CAFTA Alert

Dear Kansas Legislative Action Tree,

The US House of Representatives is expected to vote on the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) next Wednesday, July 27.  Please call your representative now and tell him to vote No on CAFTA.  (phone numbers at bottom of this email)

CAFTA, like NAFTA, subordinates environmental protection to the interests of corporations and investors.  The world class ecological diversity of undeveloped areas of Central American countries will be at serious risk from CAFTA which has weak and unenforceable environmental provisions.  For more information check the Club website at http://sierraclub.org/trade/CAFTA/
